How to properly use the KFS in your company
process, good practice and avoiding mistakes
Just finding out about the KFS is not enough - you need to know how to go through the whole process to successfully obtain funding and deliver training without hassle. In this article I will describe the steps, practical tips and mistakes to avoid in the insulation industry.
Step by step: the fundraising process
- Contact the relevant District Labour Office (PUP) - check the recruitment schedule and documents.
- Prepare documentation: application, training programme, cost estimate, timetable, “de minimis aid” statements.
- Application processed - Job Centre usually has 30 days to make a decision
- After a positive decision, you conclude a contract with the PEO and choose a training provider (e.g. Natalux
- Delivery of training - in accordance with programme, documentation, attendance and office requirements.
- Settlement - handing over documents confirming the execution of the training (attendance lists, invoices, reports).
Good practice and guidance
- Start the procedure early - delays risk rejection.
- Arrange common dates with us (Natalux) - to fit the course into your company's schedule.
- Ensure participants' commitment - absences or cancellations may result in a refund.
- Thorough documentation - attendance lists, reports, photographs - offices often require paperwork.
- Liaise with the PUP - consultation and contacts will help avoid formal errors.
- Remember the de minimis limit - KFS funds are de minimis aid, which limits the amount of aid to the entrepreneur
Typical mistakes to avoid
- Submission of an application after the deadline or without the required documents.
- Mismatch between training programme and KFS priorities (e.g. deficit training, technology, new processes).
- Lack of own contribution (for larger companies) or underestimation of costs.
- Failure to comply with terms and conditions - cancellations, absences, failure to complete the course.
- Lack of adequate documentation at the end of the course.
